Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Hadoop development, performance and technology guidance and support to the Engineering and Technical Operations team
- Develop new and modify existing components of Simulmedia’s applications and a7 infrastructure using the necessary technologies to meet distinct and changing business requirements
- Develop system migration, performance measurement and validation processes for Simulmedia’s applications and a7 infrastructure, as needed
- Participate in project planning, project definition, requirements definition, analysis, design, testing, system documentation and user training
- Work with Product Management, Business Operations and Attention Science to analyze, model and estimate new technical products, features and functions.
- Work with Attention Science to ensure appropriate algorithms and data structures are in place to support Simulmedia product and business requirements
- Work with QA to develop test plans, test scripts and test environments and to understand and resolve defects
- Support Technical Operations in system debugging and problem resolution efforts, as needed
- Participate in code reviews, software design sessions, and architectural reviews
- Interact with customers and partners concerning technical matters, as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in (or equivalent expertise) in Computer Science, Mathematics or Science
- Minimum 1 year development experience in a Hadoop environment using Map/Reduce and Hive
- Minimum 5 years of experience with application design, development across a variety of platform
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies, software development lifecycle
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills with an attention to detail
- Start-up company experience a definite plus.
