Advanced television advertising company Simulmedia has hired longtime Fox executive Laurel Bernard as its new president of entertainment marketing. Bernard will be based in Los Angeles and report to Michael Zimbalist, the company’s chief marketing officer.
Bernard was one of the hundreds of Fox executives who recently accepted a voluntary employee buyout offer. She most recently served as executive vice president of marketing for Fox Broadcasting, a position she held for nine years.
“I have worked with Simulmedia and seen first-hand their ability to drive the kind of results that TV marketers need,” said Bernard. “I am energized by the opportunity to help expand Simulmedia’s footprint in Hollywood, where all entertainment marketers are beset by the challenge of finding audiences quickly, efficiently and at scale, and driving those audiences to take an action.”
Bernard spent 27 years at Fox, serving two stints at Fox Broadcasting, where she helped launch “Empire,” “American Idol,” “Glee,” “24,” “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy.” She also spent time on the film side, working at 20th Century Fox Film, Fox Home Entertainment and Fox Searchlight.

Zimbalist joined Simulmedia in March after 10 years at the New York Times Company. Simulmedia specializes in tune-in advertising, targeting specific audiences and measuring their behavior after being exposed to advertising.
