Ken Rona has spent roughly 20 years in digital media, most of it working in the programmatic space. His roles have been in Technology and Data Science leadership with a healthy pinch of Product. Ken has specific expertise in using data for media buying and selling and optimizing media spend for advertisers. Ken is probably best known for being a founder of Chalice Custom Algorithms and as the Digital and Data Science innovations team leader at what was then Turner Broadcasting.
Ken has held multiple C-level roles in his career, including CEO, CTO, and Chief Data Scientist, each twice, and has spent the last five years working exclusively in startups. Ken has architected and built early versions of several digital media products (including Chalice’s AI Allocator, FXM’s Supply Source Rationalization capability, and SYMS’s Curated Supply Path Optimization tool.) Ken is often asked to be an advisor for very early-stage AdTech/MarTech startups and help them with strategy, fundraising, and business development.
Ken lives in Atlanta with his wife and two kids. Ken is the proud parent of a trans-child who is a Freshman in college. Ken's other child is a Sophomore in High School. Ken's wife is pursuing her Doctorate at the University of Georgia. Ken has three university degrees: a BA and MA from Stony Brook University and a Ph.D. in behavioral economics from Duke University.
All-time favorite TV show: The Good Place. Ken has had a lot of discussions about that show.
Favorite sports team: Duke Basketball. Really, I only have one sports team. That is it. But I can fake Mets, Bills, and Falcons, pretty well.
Favorite snack when watching TV or out at the movies: Doritos. By far. But none of that cool ranch stuff. Just classic Doritos.
Last travel destination: NYC to interview for Simulmedia. Before that, I went to Hungary and Madrid on business.
Go-to karaoke song: I don’t know. I have never done Karaoke. I guess, Devil Went Down to GA.
