Ms. Bright served as Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Administration at Sotheby’s from August 2017 until March 2020. At Sotheby’s, she led the HR and Administration functions internationally through the public company’s sale to BidFair USA for $3.7 billion. Prior to joining Sotheby’s, Ms. Bright served as Chief Administrative Officer at global architecture and design firm Gensler, overseeing Human Resources, Talent Development and Community Affairs. Ms. Bright spent more than twenty years at Condé Nast leading the Human Resources group for over a decade until her appointment as Chief Administrative Officer in 2010. Early in her career, Ms. Bright held senior human resources roles at American Express and Macy’s.
Ms. Bright has been a Board Director and Chair of the Compensation Committee for WOW Internet & Cable since 2017 and was recently named a Board Director for Michigan-based firm Service Express. She also served as a Board Director for Cumulus Media in 2017 and 2018 following her completion of the Deloitte Board-Ready-Women Program in Fall 2016.
Ms. Bright served as Mayor de Blasio’s Representative on the board of the New York Public Library from December 2017 to December 2019. In 2015, Ms. Bright was appointed by Mayor de Blasio to the Quadrennial Advisory Commission to study, evaluate and make recommendations for compensation levels of elected City Officials. She was also a member of the Alliance for Downtown New York in 2015-2016.
Ms. Bright completed her MBA at New York University’s Stern School of Business and received her bachelor’s degree from Marymount Manhattan College, where she is a former Board of Trustees member.
